padrões de portugal: uma nova coleção
Hoje venho contar-vos um pouco mais sobre a nova coleção de postais + envelopes beija-flor - Padrões de Portugal.
Esta coleção reúne um conjunto de padrões portugueses recolhidos um pouco por todo o país: 5 padrões de azulejos + 5 padrões de mosaicos hidráulicos.
O postal contém na frente o azulejo ou mosaico e no verso, informação da sua origem e espaço para a mensagem privada. O envelope, por sua vez, contém o padrão criado a partir do azulejo/mosaico do postal. É uma espécie de jogo, para quem o recebe, de tentar descobrir como aquela peça - o postal - cria aquele padrão que vemos no envelope.
Devo confessar-vos que pensei muito se deveria lançar, ou não, esta nova coleção. Numa altura em que a temática dos azulejos/mosaicos está tão em voga, lançar mais um produto com este tema acaba por ser bastante arriscado. Acabei por avançar mas sempre com a consciência que teria de fazer desta coleção um produto diferente, com algo que a distinguisse.
Por isso posso dizer-vos que fiquei muito orgulhosa quando consegui fechar o produto há alguns meses atrás. Os padrões e o formato resultam muito bem, tem informação relevante sobre a origem destes símbolos portugueses e todo o conjunto não poderia ser mais português e atual.
Quando se lança um produto novo há sempre o risco de não ser aceite, de não ser compreendido ou mesmo de ser resultar muito bem no ecrã, ou na montra de uma loja, mas depois não resultar na prática.
Em Lisboa, no mercado Crafts & Design que fiz em Junho, pude testar o produto e posso dizer-vos que uma das razões por ter vindo de lá tão feliz, foi por ter corrido tão bem! Levei apenas poucas unidades, para ver como corria, e fiquei de coração mais que cheio quando me apercebi que se tinha levado mais, mais postais voariam por aí!
Foi muito bom ver as pessoas a associarem os padrões a algum recanto da cidade ou mesmo até de um recanto de família.
Eu sou daquelas pessoas que envia sempre postais, cada vez que viajo. Sou uma coleccionadora de postais, envelopes... e, talvez por isso, queira mesmo muito que esta coleção se espalhe pelo mundo!

Today I want to tell you a bit more about the new beija-flor postcards + envelopes collection - Padrões de Portugal.
This collection brings a set of patterns that where gathered from locations all over Portugal: 5 tile patterns + 5 hydraulic mosaic patterns.
The postcard has the tile or the mosaic in the front and, on the back, the origin information and a place so you write a message. The envelope, in turn, contains the pattern made by the tile or mosaic from the postcard. It is a kind of a puzzle, for the receiver, trying to figure out how that piece - the postcard - creates the pattern you see on the envelope.
I must confess I thought a lot whether I should launch this new collection or not. At a time when tiles / mosaic are so popular, launching another product with this topic is quite risky. In the end I decided to go ahead but always keeping in mind that I would make this collection different with something that would stand out.
For this reason I was really proud when I managed to finish the product a few months ago. The patterns and the format work very well, they have relevant information about the origin of these Portuguese symbols and the result couldn't be more contemporary and Portuguese.
When you launch a new product there's always the risk it wont' be accepted, it will be misunderstood or even for it to seem to work very well on the computer screen, or behind a shop window, but not working properly when you really use it. At the Crafts & Design market in which I participated in June, I was able to test the product and one of the reasons the market went so well, was the success of the postcards! I only took a few units, just to check how it would be accepted, and it makes my heart full when I realized that if I had taken more I would also come back empty handed!
It was so great to see people associate the patterns to some place on their city or even to their family's house.
I am one of those people who always sends postcards, each time I travel. I collect postcards, envelopes... and I would really like if this collection could be spread around the world!
